Hello, paws and pals! š¾ Itās Bonnie here again, reporting live from another fantastic Cornish beach! This time, I explored the one and only Perranporth Beachāa massive, two-mile stretch of golden sand thatās like heaven on Earth for a beach-loving dog like me. Mum says that your humans will need to know about parking and getting there and blah, blah, blah. So it takes us about 15/20 minutes to get here and there are loads of car parks. There is one right by the beach, and there are public toilets here as well (not for me ā¦. I just go on the sand and mum picks it up !!!!). Wheal Leisure car park is free in winter and only a short walk to the beach and shops.
So hereās a little tail (get it?) of my adventures at Perranporth!
Running Wild on the Sand
The moment my paws hit that soft, endless sand, I was off like a rocket! I could run for hours, and trust me, I almost did! Two whole miles of wide, open beach, with room to play with my other doggie friends, sniff horse poo (and I sometimes like to eat it if I can do it without mum noticing!), and have a good splash in the sea. Thereās no better feeling than the wind in my fur and the salty water on my paws. You might have guessed from my horse poo comment that there are sometimes horse riders on the beach so get your humans to put you on a lead when they are aroundā¦. I mean theyāve got big hooves and you wouldnāt want to get trodden on!
And the best part? Dogs are allowed all year round! That means I can enjoy my Perranporth adventures no matter the season. Talk about a paw-some beach policy!
Exploring Rockpools
Perranporth isnāt just about running; itās also full of amazing rockpools that pop up with the tide. Each rockpool is like a mini mystery waiting to be solved. I love splashing around in them and watching the little sea creatures dart around. Usually I just like to lie down in them and cool off after all of that running and they are less scary than the sea when the waves are big!
Pit Stop at The Watering Hole Pub
After all that running and exploring, a dogās got to refuel, right? Lucky for me, The Watering Holeāthe famous pub right on the beachāhas some delicious treats. My humans and I took a break there, and let me tell you, it was a dog-friendly delight! They brought me a few tasty treats off the bar (I could smell them coming!) while my humans enjoyed their drinks.
The pub has this laid-back vibe, and is a perfect place to people watch. The humans say the food is good and they often have music playing and sport on the TV. Mostly we sit on the tables outside watching the beach and I get lots of attention there as people walk past so it feels like Iām a bit of a celebrity!
A Perfect Day
Thereās just something magical about Perranporth Beach. Whether Iām racing along the sand, splashing in rockpools, or lounging at The Watering Hole, every moment here feels like a little slice of doggie heaven. Cornish beaches like this one make me feel free, happy, and ready for whatever adventure comes next.
Until next timeā¦ā¦ā¦..
Lots of woofs and tail wags,
