Trerice Holiday Barns are set in the grounds of Trerice Manor Farm, a traditional farmhouse that used to be part of Trerice Manor, the National Trust Elizabethan Manor house located 1 mile away.
The Barns are converted farm buildings and are all approached via a gravel driveway that sweeps around the shared (between the three barns not the owners) lawned garden area with swings for children and into the parking area. The garden area and driveway and parking are all relatively level. Due to the age and construction of the properties, all have some stairs and steps to navigate.
THE BYRE (sleeps 4 + cot) means Cowshed and is a single storey, semi-detached barn
The gravel driveway runs alongside the front patio of The Byre, enabling guests to pull their car up alongside the property. There is one step up onto the patio which is enclosed with a 4 foot high wall and gate. The private front door of the property is 3.5 metres along a level patio from the gate. There is a door threshold and then there are no further steps or thresholds inside. The entrance door is a stable door so the bottom half can be shut with the top half open for views/fresh air. The door opens into an open plan living/kitchen/dining room. The 2 bedroom and 2 bathroom doors are all off this living space. The bathroom has a bath with shower over but the shower room has a walk in shower with a low profile shower tray.
The parking area is a distance of approximately 20 metres from the property across the gravel driveway. The Byre has parking for 1 vehicle (possibly 2 by prior arrangement).
THE DAIRY (sleeps 5 + cot) is a single storey, semi-detached barn converted from the milking parlour
The gravel driveway runs alongside the front patio of The Dairy, enabling guests to pull their car up alongside the property.
The front door opens into the spacious living room with its high vaulted beamed ceiling. From here there is a doorway through into the kitchen/dining room and the 2 bedroom and bathroom doors are located off this room. The bathroom has a bath with shower over.
The parking area is a distance of approximately 20 metres from the property across the gravel driveway. The Dairy has parking for 1 vehicle (possibly 2 by prior arrangement).
THE HAYLOFT (sleeps 4 + cot) is a traditional stone built 2 storey barn converted from the former hayloft and is a reverse level property with the bedrooms and bathroom on the ground floor.
The gravel driveway runs alongside the patio of The Hayloft, enabling guests to pull their car up alongside the property. The downstairs entrance door is located approximately 8 metres from the driveway through a walkway between the Hayloft and The Dairy walled patios. This gravelled walkway is 1.3 metres wide with one step down onto a level paved area. The door opens onto a small entrance hall with the doors to the bathroom and the 2 bedrooms. The main bedroom is very spacious and has lots of room for a cot if required. The bathroom has a bath with shower over. The second bedroom with 2 single beds is a cosy room with only a small gap between the 2 beds.
Off the hallway is also the staircase up to the first floor. There are 11 steps with a handrail and a 90 degree bend leading to the open plan living/kitchen/dining area. The spacious open plan living area has a woodburner, comfortable sofas, a dining table as well as a fully fitted kitchen.
At the top of the stairs there is a stairgate and to the left is a stable door with a step down onto small concrete landing with 12 concrete steps with metal railings and handrail down into the enclosed patio with 3-4 foot walls. The patio can also be accessed through a gate from the driveway. There is a small step up from the driveway onto the patio and the patio is also on two levels: the top area has the steps up to the first floor living room and space for the outdoor table and chairs, which can also be moved to the lower area to suit. There are two wide paved steps down to the lower area with the washing line.
The parking area is a distance of approximately 20 metres from the property across the gravel driveway. The Hayloft has parking for 1 vehicle (possibly 2 by prior arrangement).
